There are other versions as well (e.g., lifting your chin without sound, lifting your chin + saying “No” at the same time).  Personally I don’t like the sound of “tsk” probably because in Japan, people click their tongue to express irritation and this gesture is not considered polite…

Sometimes I found myself lifting my chin to express “no” (but never with “tsk”, though). It is amazing how people adapt to their surrounding environment…
