Everyone manually locks their unit, but I think that in most of the apartment buildings, people don’t manually lock their main entrance. However, when it’s locked it can create problems because, as written above, you need a key to unlock.

As I have written in a past post, I cannot understand why, in Greece, we need a key for locking/unlocking from inside. That is, why can’t we just have a locking system that doesn’t require a key…?

It simply doesn’t make sense because it is better to lock manually for security, but in case of emergency, you might not be able to escape from the building…

I’d never encounter this system before, so it’s been very puzzling to me.
